Civil society urges the European Commission and EU Member States not to block TRIPS waiver at WTO

Over 200 national and international civil society organisations from around the world have signed a letter to the leadership of the European Commission and EU Member States urging them to engage in meaningful text-based negotiations for a TRIPS waiver at the World Trade Organization.
This letter is a response to the the European Commission’s recent communication to WTO’s TRIPS Council offering no meaningful solutions for equitable access to vaccines and other health technologies to combat the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
