Open letter to EU Commissioner for International Partnerships

By 7 April 2020No Comments

Global Health Advocates, along with seven other NGOs working in global health, have drafted an open letter to the EU Commissioner for International Partnershipswith recommendations for the EU’s long-term response to health threats, such as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and how to ensure the right to health for all.

While this letter focuses on EU investment in global health initiatives like Gavi; building strong, resilient health systems; investing in WASH and nutrition; and creating better Research and Innovation (R&I) policies to respond to future out breaks, we understand that the COVID-19 response also requires longer-term action to address the socio-economic implications of the crisis on people’s lives. We hope that in planning to address these implications, you will take a complementary approach that tackles the social and economic determinants of health.
