Building Bridges: Bringing TB and HIV activists and communities of the European region together for a more effective response to the epidemics

You are invited to attend ‘Building Bridges: Bringing TB and HIV activists and communities of the European region together for a more effective response to the epidemics’ at AIDS 2014. TB and HIV remain very real problems in the European region particularly among vulnerable populations like prisoners and injecting drug users. HIV activists have been very active in advocacy and service provision in the region, although HIV incidence remains on the rise. TB communities have been less vocal but have played a key role in service provision.

This session will bring together advocates from the European region and beyond to discuss how partners are responding to the dual epidemics. European civil society will share their knowledge and experiences and seek discussion on both the successes and challenges in bridging the gap between the TB and HIV communities.

Speakers:

Fanny Voitzwinkler, Global Health Advocates France/TB Europe Coalition

Mandy Slutsker, ACTION global health advocacy partnership

Zahedul Islam, International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine/TB Europe Coalition

Bruce Warwick, RESULTS UK/TB Europe Coalition
