Global Health Advocates pushes for messages rather than its brand. For this reason, GHA is seen by partners in Brussels and France as a facilitator, often playing a coordinating role in the work of different civil society platforms. As a part of this effort, we are a member of the following networks and coalitions:
ACTION FOR GLOBAL HEALTH is a network of European health and development organisations advocating for the European Union and its Member States to play a stronger role to improve health in developing countries.
The TB Europe Coalition (TBEC) is an informal advocacy alliance of individuals associated with civil society organisations that share a commitment to raising awareness of TB and to increasing the political will required to effectively control the disease throughout the World Health Organisation (WHO) European Region and worldwide.
Coordination SUD is the French national platform of international solidarity NGOs. Founded in 1994, it brings together more than 137 NGOs active in the fields of humanitarian aid, development assistance, environmental protection, the defense of disadvantaged people’s human rights and international solidarity education and advocacy. Coordination SUD fulfills a dual mission of supporting the professionalization of French NGOs and representing their positions to public and private institutions in France, Europe and around the world.
The European Parliament Working Group on Innovation, Access to Medicines and Poverty-Related Diseases aims to ensure that the EU adopts appropriate measures that improve access to existing medical tools (medicines, diagnostics, vaccines) and stimulate the research and development (R&D) of urgently-needed better tools for people in developing countries, notably for poverty-related diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
GHA helped create the Collectif Santé Mondiale, which gathers 9 associations calling on the French government to safeguard aid for global health, with a specific focus on nutrition, health systems strengthening, sexual and reproductive health and rights and pandemics.
European Advocacy Coalition on Global Health Research & Development (EACH)
EACH is an informal coalition of civil society organisations and product development partnerships (PDPs) created by GHA in 2011. We share a commitment to raise awareness about R&D for poverty-related and neglected diseases at EU level and internationally. GHA has been leading and coordinating the work of EACH since 2011.
European Immunisation and Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (EIVAC)
GHA is a founding member and coordinator of the European Immunisation and Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (EIVAC), an informal network of non-governmental organisations that strive to ensure that EU institutions adequately address child health and immunisation in developing countries.
